The Black Night Simmons

Race Report From The Final

After having a few late nights with clutch problems and ending up having to fit a standard ford clutch, I went to the last round not sure if the car would last qualifying let alone the race.

when out in qualifying, the car didn’t feel very happy, the set up felt like I was fighting it all the way around, coming in after the red flag with a 1.17.6 being my best lap time, 4th in class and 8th on the grid.

Had a play with tyre pressures and set out for the race.
With a lightening start I was up 2 rows and alongside Wyatt’s class leading Astra.

with a good few laps chasing Anderson’s fiesta and the Astra of Wyatt, Anderson pulled off with clutch problems leaving me 2nd in class and in sight of joint 2nd in class for the championship.

Wyatt having a fight with class A’s Barnard meant I had something to aim for, and ended up finding a personal best time of 1.16.7 which earned me the fastest lap in class and that extra point putting me 1 point ahead of Tony Dolley and second in class and 7th in overall championship standings.

I finished the race just behind Wyatt and Barnard in 7th place, so maybe the car set up wasn’t so bad after all.
so I ended on a high, now excited for 2016.

Thank you to all my sponsors and of course my main sponsor Ian Studley Cars for getting me there fighting the fight, let’s hope we can get more people onboard for 2016,
